This qualification provides a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites as well as the attainment of core units of competency required in many Certificate III qualifications. Training and assessment are undertaken in real or very closely simulated workplace environments, leading to recognition of skills and competency.

This qualification is only available to businesses or organisations who are enrolling students to provide new skills or up-skilling within the Construction industry.

This qualification provides a range of support tasks applicable to a majority of construction work sites as well as the attainment of core units of competency required in many Certificate III qualifications. Training and assessment are undertaken in real or very closely simulated workplace environments, leading to recognition of skills and competency.

The packaging rules for this qualification consist of 10 core (mandatory) units and 5 of the following elective units. You must be assessed as competent in all 15 units to attain this qualification. Elective options are structured to allow choice from a range of units that provide meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship.

Funding – Northern Territory

The User Choice program (traineeship) is funded by the Northern Territory Government who is committed to building skilled and competitive workforce to meet the needs of industry and business and fill job opportunities created by continuing strong economic growth in the NT.

Traineeships can be full-time, part-time or school-based and offer a great way to start a career with paid work and structured training that can be on-the-job, off-the-job or a combination of both, leading to a nationally recognised qualification.

Traineeships are available to anyone 15 years or older and do not require any entry qualifications. You can be:

  • At school
  • Re-entering the workforce
  • Already working and wanting to up-skill or gain a qualification – eligibility criteria applies
  • Intending to change careers.
