LEANNE PEARD – Business and social media trainer
Leanne is a training specialist in business, management and social media. She has over 30 years’ experience including administration, business management, operations and finance with local businesses in Cooktown and Cairns. Leanne’s other strengths include small business support, online marketing and social media. She has helped individuals and businesses to develop their social media marketing strategies, employing tactics such as webinars, video, content, blogs and Facebook.
ROSALIND CHAFFEY – NEIS trainer
“Rosalind (Roz) Chaffey first came to the NEIS Program as a participant in 1994 and again in 2014, creating two very successful small businesses. She has worked as a business, English and hospitality trainer since 2004 having taught in both China and Australia. Because of her hands-on business experience and participation in the NEIS Program, Training Connections Australia (TCA) welcome her as our NEIS Trainer and Mentor. Roz has been a passionate advocate of the NEIS program because she is living proof that it works. In her eyes, small businesses are the backbone of Australia’s economic stability and so is very proactive in seeing small businesses flourish.”
NATASHA BROWN – NEIS trainer
Natasha is a training specialist in new small business and micro business operations. She has over 12 years’ experience in supporting and mentoring business owners to build capacity in their business including staff performance, finance, risk management and quality. Natasha is passionate about supporting and advising people who are interested in starting their own business.
RAY JAMIESON – NEIS mentor and trainer
Ray Jamieson has joined Cairns TCA as a NEIS mentor and Trainer from the frenetic lifestyle of Brisbane. He has extensive business background, beginning with rural and farming enterprises, earthmoving and construction before starting his own business consultancy, specialising in corporate rescue. Working in Cairns will be a very welcome change of pace and Ray is looking forward to consolidating his career here.
WAYNE PIHLGREN – Employability skills trainer
Wayne has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years and now shares his experiences as an employer and employee with school leavers and mature-aged, long-term unemployed. Wayne has owned and operated a 21-room, award-winning hotel in Cairns, which catered to a niche market. His responsibilities included recruitment, training and management of staff as well as overseeing the day-to-day front office, reservations, food and beverage operations, housekeeping, work health and safety and asset management.
NICHOLAS GREG – Work health and safety trainer
Nicholas is a training specialist in work health and safety. He has over seven years’ experience in advising businesses on their safety obligations. He is currently the Work Health and Safety Manager for the My Pathway group of companies, which operate nationally. Nicholas’ experience extends across a broad range of industries including employment, health care, psychological services, child care, ship restoration, agriculture, indigenous affairs, construction, mining, labour hire, cleaning and transport. He has developed an understanding of various State and Territory safety legislation and has experience with Government contract obligations.
ADRIAN KELLEHER -Employability Skills Training (EST) trainer
Adrian Kelleher is a trainer with TCA, delivering the EST program as part of the Youth Jobs PaTH Initiative in Glenorchy. Adrian has worked as a trainer in the employment services industry for nearly 15 years, with qualifications and experience in Hospitality, Business, Science and Project Management. Adrian has a wealth of knowledge and experience in a wide array of industries and a passion for helping people gain employment through clear communication of what is expected in the workplace, identifying their chosen career direction and helping them take steps in the right direction.
Hospitality and retail trainer
Phoebe is a training specialist in both hospitality and retail. She has over 30 years’ experience within the hospitality industry, with extensive experience in asset maintenance, food and beverage and VIP care. Phoebe’s roles have included Restaurant Owner/Operator, Resort Manager, Food and Beverage Executive Assistant, VIP Coordinator and Cabaret Manager. She also has experience in retail, providing front counter customer service for small businesses.
